Eine Unterdr\u00fcckungsmethode der Briten, Mitte des 19.Jhd. &#8222;Die britische Regierung zahlte den hungernden Iren einen Penny pro Tag, um diese Mauern zu errichten. Oft war es sinnlose Arbeit (sogenannte <em>make-work<\/em>), nur um die Menschen zu besch\u00e4ftigen, damit sie sich ihr Essen verdienen konnten.
